We’re excited to announce that v1.4.0 has finally arrived! Check out the new trailer below:

This major update features a vast number of content additions and major improvements, including the addition of King Dedede, a full Lloyd resprite, a redesign of Goku from the ground up, and a complete rework of Tails!

Some other noteworthy changes:

  • New stages: Dedede Arena, Jungle Island, Multi-Man Battlefield, Palace of Twilight, and Snowpoint Temple,
  • New items: Bomber, Coconut Gun, Crates, Gust Jar, Icewing, One Club, Poison Dagger, Potion, POW Block, and Shield Monitor
  • New Pokémon: Blastoise (re-added), Celebi, Cyndaquil, Marill, Mew, Regirock, Unown, Venusaur, and shiny variants
  • New assist trophies: Air Man, Arthur, Moai, and Vegeta
  • Classic mode revamped
  • Hitbox viewer added to training mode
  • Huge wave of bug fixes, new music, mass balancing, and much much more!

We just released SSF2 hotfix patch v1.4.0.1 to address a few critical issues!

  • Fixed inability to connect to online mode (only affected the 64-bit Windows installer build)
  • Fixed softlock when trying to load Sheik’s character break the target stage.
  • Ganondorf – Fixed being able to Power Shield his Up Special on the last hit.
  • King Dedede – Removed Super Armor from the following animations in Up Special: Fall, Special Land, and Special Heavy Land.
  • Lloyd: Up Special can now grab ledges and demon fang now supports Chibi Robo’s pocket
  • Race to the finish performance tweaks
